Ever since the new Starbucks opened near the Southern Dungeon, I've been stuck on a caffeine high (or so it would seem). I think I would think that some kind of espresso-type drink would be perfect for my world. Surely, it may not be original but such a drink, in the right environment, could compete with alcoholic beverages which were more prominent in medieval Europe (and therefore in the typical Med-Fantastic setting).

Then again, it might be hard to add the Tiramisù in there...

MtG - wise, I've drawn the SHINING SHOAL, which seems to indicate some temporay respite up ahead... Or some very lively sushi in my near future...

17th-Jun-2005 05:52 - Fitting end to "Plan B" week [arcane, blue]

What a strange week it was. With the bad weather, the early shifts (twice in 3 days) and general mayhem, I can't wait for the weekend to take some time off… The only good point coming out of this is all the extra work I'm doing will permit me to take another day off, don't know yet when I'll take it but it's probably gonna be after Canada Day.

Almost finished my plan for the Voir's novel contest. I already have a general  outlook of the story and while I don't think it will change with my last 2 or 3 forays. I'm also writing now a list of places and things I want to do in BC. Lots of interesting restaurants lined up.  Also had a crazy idea as I have decided to collect issues from the Metro daily newspaper. Will pickup an issue in Vancouver and will ask my Korean pen-pal friend whether she could bring one from Seoul. Might be an interesting way to choose where I go on vacation.

I'm one step closer to find the elusive Black Black gum as I finally found a store that sells Lotte products. Unfortunately, a breakdown in communication prevented me from being able to ask whether the had any on stock. I did try a xylitol-based gum which tasted like lime and mint. Quite refreshing!!!. As soon as the weather (and time) will permit me, I'll drop by to pursue my investigation.

Even with the busy week, I managed to find some time to glance at the latest Vampire: the Requiem sourcebook based on New Orelans. I find it funny that they moved the "main" setting from Chicago to the Big Easy, especially since the GURPS version of the old Vampire porudct had an introductory adventure set in the very same locale. It also puts a whole different perspective on the setting leaving the urban goth look and going a more romantic flavour.

The card I've drawn today is DAMPEN THOUGHT. Which is actually kind of fitting as the flow of information is down to a trickle due to the hectic pace.
