Yesterday has been a very weird day for me. We lost power at BigMediaCo for a litlle over an hour in the morning due to an emergency shutdown brought by construction being done a few corners from the building. At least the weather outside has been nice enough that we could go out and enjoy this welcome break.

And compared to some of my colleagues in the call centers, which were shuffled around to the secondary site, not actually doing more work as they lost almost 2 hours going back and forth, they was nothing to do but to wait for the power to come back, which did right around lunch time.

Plus, I found out last night that instead of going to Ottawa at the end of April as planned, I'll return over there during St-Jean-Baptiste weekend, meaning I'll probably won't have to "waste" a vacation day for the trip and will give me more opportunity story wise (of course, it would mean that instead of picking stuff from military movies rather than from musty scrolls but it's a risk I'm willing to take).

Hmm, funny there's a new field called "Current Location" but no mention anywhere as to its use. No matter, I'll use it as I see fit for the moment and I'm sure I'l have some fun with it as the days go by.

Today, my MtG card is GHOR-CLAN SAVAGE. While "berserk" may not be the operative word I was looking for to begin my long week-end, I'll keep it in mind.

 

If all things were right in this world, I would be anywhere but at work today. Unfortunately, I have to make do with too little sleep, too much Jolt! and not enough patience. Once again I had to stay till 9 yesterday for what amounted to be nothing. Oh sure I have enough to take another day off (second in 2 days) but what does it mean when you cannot cash them in, when you really need them?

Il all things were right in this world, I would be able to take the Friday after I come back off. Instead, I'll have to come in. Guess, I'll count it as a virtual vacation. Don't know what it will mean, data-wise, but I guess it could very well mean the difference between picking stuff from Harry Potter or picking stuff from old D&D books. sigh

But not all things at BigMediaCo are bleak, here's what I think is a fun take on the traditional Canada-US hockey rivalry for the coming olympics (used to sell our HD digital terminal).
