Well, as much as I could bitch and moan about lost dues because my PHB is "outsourcing" overtime to other people, i have to admit to taking a certain pleasure in seeing other people coming in at ungodly hours...

Because of this, the next few days will go as smooth as possible, giving more than ample time to complete this year's entry and, why not, even maybe had the chance to type it (very small chance)

Seeing as this my last LJ entry of the week (except for my Vox), here is my weekly draft report

I have a strong week so far and if my luck holds, I should be able to climb a few rungs still and maybe claim the 4th.

Well, I'm off to for the next few days where I'll be planning my first data gathering post-nanowrimo, Vox entries, getting more stuff on Krynn, partying with Special K and watching the news looking for inspiration.

My Tarot outlook continues on the same reversed streak of the past few entries. Not necessarily a good thing...

10 Anfore (Satiety), when reversed: Dissipation, debauchery, and stagnation. Taking one's good fortune for granted. Problems in domestic and social matters. A false love or infatuation, leading to a lack of fulfillment.
Question

It seems I have acquired yet another title to add to my resumé. I am now acting as liaison between my BigMediaCo colleagues and the nearby Chinatown district. Not that I am complaining the least about it, but even people who are coming from other departments have begun asking me for information on where to get this or that product.

While the attention is flattering, Ifind it kind of weird to be thrust into that kind of activity. Oh well, It gives something to do on the lunch hour as I scour the stores.

Not much to say but... You gotta be kidding me!!! It seems that we can't access the players' profiles on Sports Forecaster from the office. I guess this is IT's equivalent of banning bottles from carry-on luggage on planes.
This is yet another omnious sign i should get down and get myself a decent computer and high speed internet from home.

Tarot-wise, It seems the blades are out in force again. The last sentence is rather omnious, is it not?

Nine of Swords (Cruelty), when reversed: Mental anguish or ill health endured and overcome. Refusal to be dragged down by the dishonor of others. Attempting to avert a shameful or regrettable act. Faithfulness, patience and unselfishness. May indicate the narrow avoidance of a death or other catastrophic loss.
8th-Nov-2006 06:43 - Mixed bag [arcana, draft06]
nanowrimo
So much to say, here's a quick update on what preys my mind...

Welcome to my first Nanowrimo'06 entry. As you probably noticed I have updated my userpic to reflect my current endeavour

I have started to fall behind on my schedule and I'll have to start burning the midnight oil. Of course I take "some" comfort by comparing myself to others in my region, but the rational part of me is stating that it's probably because people haven't updated their word counts yet!

How do I justify my procastinating? By going out and looking for stuff for next year! A couple of weeks back, I decided to merge any NHL-related data with Tolkein terminology, I decided to do the same thing with the NBA and Dragonlance. I decided this by looking at the Krynnish Cleric Handbook "Holy Order Of The Stars" while debating or not to keep my basketball-related datum from the previous years even if it's now out of date...Of course the prospect of seeing someone like Rafael "Hoffa" Araujo as a Majere-praching monk. then again, I seem to remember a certain kung-fu priest from my Dragonlance campaign that was just as far-fetched...

Last night, as I was watching CNN, I was surprised to see how the Democrats managed to pick Senate seats on the Grand Ol' Party. I'm sure that is just a temporary situation and that Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island should return to their previous allegiances in the near future... Not that it's something i want to see, mind you!

Armstrong is killing me! I thought for sure he would be anchoring the first line with Crosby and Malkin, but he seem to have been bit by the sophmore bug. I guess the hockey gods are punishing for not talking about my team last week!

Divination-wise, I have drawn The Tower: Comeuppance. Setback. Disaster. Arrogance of pride cast down by Providence. Unforeseen event. Calamity. Hopefully, this is only about hockey and not anything else

26th-Oct-2006 06:36 - Fun with stats! [draft06, figure, lawful evil, undead]
get_fuzzy

At the same rate, they won't be any smokers left in La Belle Province by 2030! Actually, I think this might actually happened but a narrow-minded individual could extrapolate this from the latest health statistics.

It's fun to think that my nerdiness has somehow help preventing from ever taking this habit. Since, in high school, smoking was seen almost as a status symbol, I just chalk it to the many things I could not take for lack of popularity or coolness.

The only time, I did smoke a cigarette was when E and I broke up, as she offered me one and I took it without thinking. Notwhitstanding the health issues, I fail to understand the appeal to this activity.

Good thing I had already plan to postpone my meeting with Special K as something came up for tonight that would have prevent me from going anyway. Yet another proof that the Fates know what they are doing.

Since I won't be posting here tomorrow, here's my weekly pool update

This is my best ranking yet! And Richards is coming along nicely...

No MtG tarot today, no regular tarot either it's back to... miniatures' divination... Today's pick is LORD SOTH

I think I've been looking too much at Dragonlance products lately, it's starting to warp my destiny.

20th-Oct-2006 07:19 - Moderately Freaky Friday [blue, draft06]
allvsjef

Not much to say on this Friday but:

* Works is so-so, will probably even more iffy next week.

* I provided my good friend SpecialK with what I called the ultimate hall pass to help her get out of work early. It's not illegal, much. Hell, I may even add this to my projects when it becomes declassified.

* And now my weekly pool report.

NB To his defense, Richard is on a tear but he's still trailing behind for a guy I took on the first round.

MtG Tarot-wise, I drew WALK THE AEONS. This is a great inspiration for the next few days

I think I am painting myself in a corner with Special K. Every time I go out and visit her, we have a great time and even the hangover the next day is mitigated by the happy events but still I wonder how far (or how long) I can pursue this.

I look at the ground to make sure I am not crossing any lines and yet I feel weary. I think I need to step back and think it through.

At least it won't be all for naught, as she requested my help, computer-wise. The funny thing about all this is that I'm more of a poseur than having any concrete knowledge in the field but the fact that I am a quick learner is a big help.

Hockey-wise, after a quick start, it seems I have reverted to my "natural" position. I'm not worried
So here's my semi-weekly status report

And back to my regular Facade-fueled Tarot Outlook of the Day

The High Priestess, when reversed

Ignorance. Shortsightedness. Selfishness. Passion. Physical ardor. Acceptance of superficial knowledge. Bad judgment.

Hmm, more fuel to stoke my self-doubt
