So I have finally found what will probably be my next source of inspiration. Here's the link for the story.
When I first found out that this would be my next story hook, I was a bit apprehensive. After all, I was hoping for something a little more fantastic. Still, this COULD work... I already have this idea of using a "24" style narrative ( this came to me when I saw the cat's name). As how this could fit with my current stories. Hmm, how about the fact that the cat was owned by the player who eventually became the Ghostface. It will work for now... Today's pick is GOBLIN TASKMASTER which management style roughly looks like how this *plum* assignement came to me. | |

It's criminal having to work while the weather is so nice...
The feeling outside is kind of mixed due to our glorious leader, Calgary Steve's decision to lower the GST for July 1st, It seems that we'll be swamped again in the next few weeks.
The funny thing is that since I'm already at critical levels, they'll either have to grant me my days off or they'll have to finally pay me some OT money.
And I may have already found an outlet as I found out last night that both The Arctic Monkeys and We are Scientists (2 bands I have bought their CDs this year) will be in Royal Mount next month.
My card of the day is GOBLIN GRENADIERS. Hmm, while most of my work is completed, this sends out a red flag...

Another week flies by with nary a trouble on the horizon. Work is busy but uneventful and I feel stuck in some routine. While making an inventory of my VCR tapes, I stumbled across a lot of programs which I had forgotten I had. That' s why before erasing it, I watched "Playing God" for one last time before re-using the tape to record "24" while I'll be away...
I always felt that this would have been a great "noir" book as the film loses impact with the play of the main characters (Duchovny, Jolie). I must admit there's this great quote that would have felt out of place in James Elroy's literature...
"Sometimes in life, we are given a choice between being a slave in Heaven or a star in Hell. And Hell does not always look like Hell. On a good day, it can look a lot like LA. "
Weather is still wacky where we have to endure more slush than snow. At least the groundhogs here in Canada are telling of an early spring. Then 6 more weeks of this would not be quite like living on the North Pole.
Oh yeah, I also went out and got a few lucky loonies (see below) for myself and others. (Don't worry virtual neighbour monosaandalos_1, I'll send one to you with my next care package).
My MtG draw-of-the-day is FERAL ANIMIST, which I feel anything but right now but the day is still young.

Oh man, yesterday was quite a nostalgic blast! Meeting up (well, almost) all my old RPG buddies was quite the night. And now, they was even talk of starting up the campaign once again after all these years (and 2 D&D editions).
Of course, seeing all the group has made me realize something quite dire, for I am the only one not "hooked up" yet. Egads! While the subject has quite come up, this hit me like a ton of bricks. Still it was fun to see the gang again and hopefully, this will happen on a more regular basis.
Missing out on a wild couple of NFL games was worth it, although I would have like to watch the Pats' demise to see "in visu" if the dynasty is truly over or if it was just a convergence of bad timing.
Of the 4 remaining teams, my favourite has got to be the Denver Broncos. I alwaysliked watching John Elway, for he was a spectacular QB and I wish the team will make it all the way.
Quite the nice week ahead (grumblings from work notwhitstanding). Tommorow's a day off,w hich I'll spent raiding the stores for the first time this year; Tuesday, I'm planning my next data grabs; and Friday, I'm off to Ottawa for the weekend. Compared to the things I've come across here in the past few weekends, maybe something from outside will help me bring some new perspective.
Plus, I'm sure the town will be all abuzz with the elections being next Monday.
It's a good thing I got tommorow off, that way I'll be able to watch the first 2 eps of "24" in time for that night's 2 others. As if I had the time to watch yet another series...
My card of the day is surely an echo from yesterday's freaking snow fall and today's cold snap as I've drawn GOBLIN SKI PATROL. Which is probably the weird thing on the slopes since Brigitte Neilsen...

Being swamped by election info, I decided just for the fun of it to do some projection as to what the political landscape would look like 15 years from now. I played briefly with the option of Quebec separation but thought that it would not happen (but would continue to be talked about as it is today).
What I think will become of the Bloc Quebecois is that eventually it will become a regional party for whom sovereignty would be an issue but not the only one to offer.
As a matter of fact, I have the Bloc becoming the partner of the Liberals (which would retain the control of the government but would not be able to gain a majority). That would probably mean that the central power is diminished and power would be given instead to the regions.
The country would be split into 5 regions :BC, western provinces, Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes. As for the 3 territories, they would remain under the administartion of the central government.
Writing this, I have an idea that is growing of writing a future timeline for my Cyberpunk story I wanted to write. I think I'll keep note of this for now and see what I can do with this. This would be give me a raison d'être for my mediablog.
As for the card I've drawn, I picked BOROS RECRUIT. Another 2-day thread seems to be building up. Is it gonna be the theme for this year?

Still a bit fatigued from my week. Maybe that's why I'm plagued by some doubt as to the pertinence of this blog... I know, I know every one gets these attacks of self-pity. Of course I know it's ridiculous as I never were looking for fame or recognition. But I wonder why I keep going at it when the people who were the ones who motivated in starting this blog have already left the blogosphere, never to be heard...
I think one thing I could do would be to comment on blogs at random and maybe drop my name here and there. Time is the biggest constraint that I have I guess it's something to look at in the coming weeks, at least after I finished the Voir project. It looks like I'm speaking in a desert and I should be used to it by now. Something will come out of it evenutally it has to...
I guess the weather is getting to me...
In other news, I'll start playing with tags in all my posts, in case I can find a pattern by colours. The card I've drawn is GOBLIN MATRON... Now, I don't think it's about my mum but who knows?

Another project release, another 5AM start for me... It's a good thing I can function with little sleep (must be all the Jolt! I drank when I was a kid) because I sure would get wrinkled. The only good thing that will come out of it is that I have already accumulated enough time for another day off. I decided to take it on the 27th, which would make the first time it would impact on my data scavanger hunt for my story project.
During my lunch hour on a work day, I usually (barring Metro breakdowns, bad weather, or random events), I usually swing by the Donjon store which has the advantage of being open by this time and is relatively close by. But since I will not be working on that day, I'll go instead to the Valet de Coeur, which has more selection rpg-wise and which I did not visit since before my trip to Ixtapa. I just can't wait.
Rumours abound at BigMediaCo on where and when we will be moving. The most "popular" choice seems to be our old building at Parc station which would mean I would not be able to visit any my usual RPG-related haunts during the work day. But then again, it won't affect until we move and that could be in fall at the latest.
I'm not doing much outside of work these days but it's not because I'm swamped or anything, I just don't feel like it, maybe it's the lassitude from my upcoming birthday that gets to me. Come the weekend, I'll try to jumpstart the whole system to get myself going, especially since on the work front, things should slow down quite a bit after this week's frenzy.
MTG-wise, I've drawn the MOGG RAIDER. As they say in french: "C'est n'importe quoi!!!"

O, Happy Day! Received the confirmation from the good people at Purolator that the package I've sent to Korea has arrived at destination. First time I've used their services. It was funny to be able to follow it across the world. Maybe next time, I'll be able to make a personal delivery (That is IF my lottery investment ever pays up).
Went to the library last night to pick up a few books. As always, I've taken a few D&D books for inspiration (The third edition DMG, Book of Vile Darkness, and Tome and Blood, the sorceror/wizard sorucebook). I chose the latter even though my main character concept (for now) is closer to a rogue rather than a wizard. Maybe I'll find ideas for the vilain.
I am beginning to be known a Tea-totalling freak at the office. Got 8 boxes of Celestial Seasonings in my cubby and I enjoy a vigourous trade with my colleagues. I got anything from Traditional Green Tea to Morrocan Pomegranate. And still, I pine for a good can of Jolt! Cola. sigh...
MTG-tarot wise, I've drawn the AKKI RAIDER, which has no siginification I can decipher. Maybe as cannon fodder for my story?

Tommorow, I am returning to work after almost 2 weeks of absence. While, I am physically fit to return to duty. I still feel somewhat drained emotionally but it's better than my first idea of starting on Friday, even though my flight arrived at 7AM, ugh! Just can't imagine how I would have felt.
Started to plough through all my personal e-mail and noticed that I am missing a VTES tournament. Too bad! Instead, I'll put my name down for the on-line 2005 tournament on deckserver.net. Instead of my usual Kitchen-sink inspired decks, I decided to take 3 decks from the vast array of Tournament-winning decks on thelasombra.com. One !Toreador, one !Ventrue and one other which I do not remember at this time...
Time constraints are the main reasons I decided to do that but it will be fun to see if I am truly a L33T-less player or if it's only my deck building which SUX.
I have noticed that the length of my posts has significantly shrunk now that I am back. I guess my life is more interesting when I am away and I am not vain enough to justifty writing posts with "Ditto"
Today's pick that was selected today was the GOBLIN TINKERER, in honour (sic) of my return.
